The Masters Series Syllabus

Quick facts

A twelve day training program which is divided into four three-day segments, spanning over a four month period that must be taken in sequence.

Here is what you are going to learn:

Structural Integration

A Non-formalistic Model Based on the Work of Ida Rolf and others. This model utilizes the 10-session protocol or recipe, but acknowledges each individual processing. Structural integration is broken down into 10  (1 hour)  treatments. Each treatment deals with a specific area and each builds upon the previous. As each area releases, the body begins to realign to a better, more functional form. Each body is different; so are our lives and past experiences. Instead of molding each individual to look the same, the goal of this method is to improve function and form while maintaining our uniqueness as individuals.

Visceral Release

Developed specifically for manual therapists, this work will significantly increase your palpation skill and dramatically reduce myofascial tension in this area. Visceral tension has significant impact on organ health and related myofascial pain patterns.

Strain-Counter-strain and Positional Release

These techniques are easy to learn and can provide a dramatic decrease in local pain areas of the soft tissue. They are designed to place the affected soft tissue in the most area of ease and release the structure gently. Developed by Osteopaths these techniques have been used for decades.

Integrated Movement Re-Patterning Therapy

Aligning the body generally is not enough. Old posture habits need to be transformed and movement re-education is highly successful in establishing new patterns. This interactive training is fun and easy to adapt to your clinical practice. Best of all, it greatly improves your SI work and its effects on your clients. The training will include observation, assessment and teaching skills specifically designed for your clients.

Marketing and Advertising Support

At Jenings we want to support you and your investment. Our program will help you market the structural series to new and existing clients. We have experience and success in building practices with this integrated marketing program.

Q: What is the difference between The Masters Series training and the basic one or two day Fascia workshops?

Answer
In our one day workshops we teach myofascial techniques for that specific region. For example the Shoulder workshops teaches myofascial techniques for all the shoulder muscles.

The Masters Series teaches a System of 10 Sessions to realign the posture called Structural Integration SI. This work is based on the groundbreaking work of Ida Rolf and others.

The Masters Series teaches all the fascia techniques plus Structural Integration (10 sessions), Muscle Energy, Positional Release, Strain Counter Strain, Visceral Manipulation.

Q: If I took all the one-day basic workshops you provide won’t I get same results as The Masters Series training?

Answer- no
The one-day workshops (cervical for example) are excellent and treat the common injuries found in that specific area. The basic one days are meant to treat the fascia locally to that region (such as Suboccipital fascia in the cervical workshop)

The Masters Series teaches the 10 Session System SI to realign the posture.  We use advanced fascia techniques to accomplish this.
Structural Integration SI is a global approach to pain and injuries.

The problem is that often the cause of fascia dysfunction is some place else in the body and WE WANT TO FIND IT! That is where Structural Integration plays a vital role

The Masters Series Graduate Program teaches Structural Integration

The Masters Series training will teach you how to apply a 10 step by step treatment plan to re align the dysfunction in clients posture.  This 10 1-hour session is a system of bodywork is called Structural Integration.

The 10 Session format called Structural Integration is separated into the below 1 hour session performed once per week or two.

1.    Respiration- incl diaphragm
2.    Feet fascia
3.    Lateral Facial Binding
4.    Adductors
5.    Psoas
6.    Lumbar
7.    TMJ
8.    Lower structure pelvis
9.    Upper structures spine
10 Connection sequence

Why Choose Certification in Myofascial Release - "The Masters Series"

Certified Myofascial Release Training

Getting a certification in myofascial release is a great way to expand your practice and help your clients in the process. As a highly specialized technique, myofascial release is one of the most effective ways to get rid of chronic pain for your clients.

Without being overly straining on you, myofascial release gives your clients the results they want. This helps tremendously with your referrals but, more than that, it gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you are among some of the most competent therapists around.

Benefits of becoming a Certified Myofascial Release Practitioner

Becoming certified in myofascial release brings you many benefits.

  • Certification sets you apart as a highly qualified and skilled professional unlike some health practitioners who may only dabble with theory and techniques of myofascial release.
  • Certification demonstrates that you are an expert in myofascial release and are specifically trained in this therapy.
  • Refining your skills and developing them properly through certification goes a long way in making your work both more efficient and effective even if you are already using some of the principles of myofascial release in your practice.
  • Certification in myofascial release puts your clients at ease. Knowing that you are specifically trained in this particular work allows them to relax more fully as they can trust your training and judgment when it comes to their treatment.
  • Finally, certification in myofascial release can draw in new clients as you have yet another skill that you can offer.

In my experience of 20 years, I realized that the more training a practitioner has, the more likely they will be able to run a successful business. These days, customers are savvier than ever before. They are knowledgeable about what sorts of techniques are available and, quite often, look for a practitioner with specific qualifications.

By getting a certification in myofascial release, you will be able to use your education in order to help relieve pain in your clients while minimizing the stress on you.

Finally, in my personal experience, certification in myofascial release helps to save your own body by allowing you to work more efficiently, allowing you to enjoy your career, your health and the rewards of a successful practice.

“Being a male massage therapist can be challenging but this mfr body of work gives me a competitive advantage!”

“The Jenings Masters Series Structural Integration program has added the "4th dimension" to my massage career. Firstly being a Male Massage Therapist can be challenging from the starting gate. This MyoFascial Release body of work gives me a competitive advantage by allowing me to differentiate myself from the mainstream "swedish" style. I have put a number of clients through the Structural Integration process and both the client and myself are amazed at the positive changes seen. The more the client and their friends and family notice their posture improving, the more confidence, trust and empowerment they feel in themselves and the ongoing 10-step treatment plan.

I have noticed increased client retention and referrals of friends and family whom want to try Structural Integration. The end results are so powerful that this work sells itself. An added bonus is the commitment clients give to complete the series, they come to see you a minimum of 10 treatments and they WILL continue to come back. I have other Massage Therapist colleagues whom refer their clients to me to use MyoFascial Release when nothing else seems to work.

Just seeing the positive results of the Structural Integration on my clients gives me more confidence not only in myself, but in educating other clients who have never heard of this style of work before.”

“I give the course five stars *****”

- Christina Kish

“I love the idea of looking at the entire body to correct posture and decrease chronic pain”

“My name is Courtney Summers I have been a R.M.T since November 2001. I recently enrolled in Barry Jennings M.F.R of the cervical region. The course was life changing for me. Previous to taking this course I was looking for ways to improve my practice and learn something new and exciting. After experiencing this course I knew I needed to enroll in the Masters course to further my career. I am looking forward to increasing my success with chronic pain clients. I love the idea of looking at the entire body to correct posture and decrease chronic pain. Also in working with clients over a period of time I always felt that some clients were left with "emotional" pain in the body after the primary complaint was addressed, thus the pain would reoccur. I am so excited to be enrolled in the Masters course to learn to balance the entire body and mind and increase the effectiveness of my treatments and bring my clients closer to pain free living. I feel that after nearly ten years as a Registered Massage Therapist M.F.R will increase the longevity of my career and decrease the strain on myself as a therapist. I can't wait to get started!”

Courtney Summers RMT

“A platform to learn better approaches and techniques to treat Chronic issues!”

“As for your questions, why I decided to enroll in the Masters Series is quite simple...I took a basic course of yours shortly after I became registered and have been interested in learning more about Fascia and also performing techniques on my clients.

As for what I am looking forward too...getting to spend time with you...lol, I am joking but that is a plus. I am looking forward to learning better approaches and techniques that I can use with my clients that have chronic issues.”

Tanya RMT

Here is what our students are saying:

"Thank you for such an AWSOME course! The Myofascial Masters Series has been the most motivating program I have taken in my 12 years of practice. When I first signed up for your course, I wasn’t prepared for such a life and career changing experience. Personally, the changes I have experienced with the work have been astounding. My posture has improved, I’m less tired and worn out after a full day pf massage, and I feel better. (I didn’t even realize how out of alignment I was").

As a trainer, you have a gift. To be able to instruct so many different learning curves, and personalities takes skill. You have the ability to reach each person on their terms.  Thank you! Sincerely, Shaunna Leclair, RMT
