Therapist: Standing at the end of the table facing your client. Use either elbow and place elbow on attachment of levator scapula on the superior angle of the scapula.

Technique:

Treating the right levator, have your client rotate their head fully to the right. Next, place your left or right elbow on the levator fascial attachment on the scapula. Engage and hold this tissue and instruct the client to slowley lift their head off the table and rotate all the way to the left. Repeat two or three times.

Repeat for the left side.

Advanced Technique:

Have your client perform the same movement, but this time engage the levator attachment with your elbow and glide inferiorly down the scapula along the medial border while the client is rotating their head.
